Marcus Holman

PBLA Team: Charlotte Bootleggers

College:  UNC 2013

We talked to Marcus to get his thoughts on lacrosse, the start of the season and everything in between!

At what age did you first start playing lacrosse, and what was the first lacrosse team you ever played on (and where, meaning, city and state)?

Started playing in Baltimore when I was about five years old in the Kelly Post Rec Program.

What are you looking forward to the most in the first season of the PBLA, and why?

The competition and getting to play with new teammates

What would you say is the strongest part of your game?

My motor and RH shot.

What is the biggest adjustment going from field lacrosse to box lacrosse?

Smaller nets, no doubt!

Even though athletes always talk about “team first,” have you set any personal goals for this first season in the PBLA? If Yes, please share at least one.

My personal goal is to win as many games as possible!

On a scale of 1-10, with one being “not at all” and ten being “embarrassing, I shouldn’t even play,” how nervous will you be on the night of your team’s first game and why?

I’ll have some healthy nerves for sure

If you could have a song play every time you score a goal, which would you pick (title and artist)?

“Hotel Lobby” by Takeoff and Quavo

If it’s up to you, what do you choose to eat as your pregame meal? (specifically, not just  “something healthy”)

Chicken, rice, broccoli

What’s most misunderstood about the sport of lacrosse?

How much guys sacrifice and how much guys work on their game to be the best.

Who is your closest friend on your PBLA team? Is there a history there?

Probably Mark Cockerton. We were teammates in the MLL and won a Championship together in 2017 with the Ohio Machine.
