The PBLA plans to take the best parts of the lacrosse game and add the athleticism of the American collegiate lacrosse players as the dominant player pool. Currently, the NLL is comprised of over 90% Canadian players. Over the last 15 years, lacrosse has been the fastest growing sport in America among both men and women.

According to the Wall Street Journal, there has been an exponential growth of boys and girls opting to play lacrosse over other sports in the last decade. The report indicates that the number of children playing other traditional sports like basketball and football is declining substantially in the US.
Our league was established to tap into the best and largest pool of American players we’ve ever seen while filling the unmet need of growing the professional game to meet the tremendous growth in lacrosse popularity. The PBLA will be America’s professional lacrosse league. Our game will be faster, more physical, and provide non-stop crowd-pleasing action that will surely take the professional lacrosse game to the next level.
The growth of lacrosse in America
From 2010 to 2017, total lacrosse participation skyrocketed 226% in both genders and across all levels, according to US Lacrosse. At the college level, lacrosse has also grown exponentially. A recent NCAA study showed that women’s lacrosse teams nearly doubled from 256 in 2003 to 505 in 2018, and men’s teams grew 61% to 380 during the same time. In 2019 alone, the NCAA added over 30 new lacrosse programs. To date, there are nearly 40,000 NCAA collegiate lacrosse players.
